Gears of War E-Day on Steam Deck
Can you play Gears of War E-Day on Steam Deck? The PC version is Windows-only — there is no native Linux build and no official Steam Deck Verified or Playable rating. Here is what we know about running it on SteamOS.
What we know
- PC platforms: Windows (Steam and PC Game Pass); also Xbox Series X|S
- Native Linux build: None
- Steam Deck badge: Not published by the developer yet
- Engine: Unreal Engine 5, with NVIDIA DLSS confirmed for PC
What that means for Deck players
Steam Deck runs SteamOS, a Linux-based system, so Gears of War E-Day would need to run through Valve's Proton compatibility layer. A demanding UE5 title on Deck hardware means heavy compromises on resolution and frame rate, and online multiplayer with anti-cheat can add further risk under Proton.
Our recommendation: if Deck is your only device, wait for an official Valve compatibility rating or community tests before committing. We will update this page as soon as official Steam Deck information appears.
