Is there a multiplayer beta?
Yes. The multiplayer beta opened Aug 6, 2026 for pre-order customers and PC Game Pass subscribers, featuring Horde mode and PvP.
What is Emergence Day?
E-Day is the day the Locust Horde erupted from beneath Sera and slaughtered billions — the defining catastrophe of the Gears universe. The game is set on that day.
Do I need to play the previous Gears games?
No — E-Day is a prequel set 14 years before Gears of War (2006), designed as an entry point.
Is E-Day on PS5 or Steam?
No PlayStation version is announced. PC availability is through Xbox / Game Pass on Windows; a Steam release has not been announced.
